Much awaited 5G services to begin on trail basis in the country from June this year. The initial period of three months is decided by Telecom Ministry which can be extended up to one year. The spectrum for the test purpose is released by ministry. The Vodafone-Idea, Jio and Airtel are among those who are conducting trails along with their technology partners through out country. As now Vodafone-Idea is partner with Ericsson, Jio with Samsung and Airtel with Nokia.
After the completion of trial there will be spectrum auction in October for 5G services. Telecom operators can better judge the network requirements and shortcomings during trials. The 5G technology has the base speed of 100Gbps and will be a game changer in Telecom sector.
