Online Financial frauds is the major issue that  citizens facing now a days. Cyber criminal using various techniques to con the citizens. To tackle with such problem government has started a helpline 1930. Citizens facing such type of situation can dial this number for further assistance and get their hard earned money back. Government also provided a cyber crime reporting portal to file the complains beside helpline 1930.

The cyber crime reporting portal takes the complains from citizens and handover to respective police stations for further actions. Rest of the things are handled by respective police station. This portal has special section for Woman and Children. Complains from these categories are expeditiously disposed by respective police stations. Alternately, citizens can report their complains through Police Helpline 112 & Woman Helpline 181. Citizens also track the status of their complain there.

How to Use National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal

To report a cyber crime on the national cyber crime reporting portal in India, you can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) at https://www.cybercrime.gov.in/
  2. Click on the “Report Cyber Crime” button on the homepage
  3. Fill out the online form with details about the cyber crime incident, including the type of crime, the date it occurred, and any relevant information about the victim and the perpetrator.
  4. Attach any relevant documents or evidence, such as screenshots, emails, or log files.
  5. Submit the form

Alternatively, you can also report a cyber crime by sending an email to cert-in@nic.in, including all the necessary information and attachments

Resources section of website provides some important documents about guidelines and do’s and don’t do’s about cyber crimes. Citizens can go through these documents to keep them updated & exercise control over cyber crimes. Cyber crime portal also provides various manuals. In case of cyber frauds citizen has to dial helpline 1930 or approach nearest police stations or file the complain online immediately to avoid further loss.

There are volunteers working in these sector. Citizens has to approach them to get assistance.
