Recently, Government Of India (GOI) launched a Nationwide Portal for Rooftop Solar (RTS) program implementation. Based on availability of Solar radiation and land utilization policy, India estimated its Solar Energy capacity of 750 Giga Watt in total. According to National Institute Of Solar Energy (NISE), India has potential of 43 Giga Watt of Rooftop Solar Capacity. Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) targeting 40,000 Mega Watt Rooftop Solar implementation in year 2022.
Government choose following solar model for implementation through out India.
MNRE empaneled implementing vendors according to states. These vendors will install projects in their respective state. Central Financial Assistance (CFA) will be calculated on benchmark cost per Kilo Watt. As per present technology RTS has life span of 25 years. Consumers will use the produced energy for self and excess energy will sold to DISCOM and released to grid. These systems are very cost effective giving break even in early years.
New portal will accept applications for CFA/Subsidy for Rooftop Solar System. Website is managed by MNRE and designed by National Informatics Center (NIC). Consumers has to select their implementing agency while registering on portal first. And then fill rest of the form by login. Duly submitted form, after successful processing at various stages CFA/Subsidy transferred to consumer bank account.
CFA/Subsidy will be available only to those who applying on the portal before cut off date 31 December, 2022.
