What is Chakshu?
Chakshu is a government initiative launched under the Sanchar Saathi program. It’s an online portal that empowers Indian citizens to report suspected fraudulent communication aimed at defrauding them.
What kind of fraud can you report on Chakshu?
Chakshu focuses on reporting attempts to defraud you through telecommunication channels like calls, SMS, or even WhatsApp messages. Here are some common examples:

Important Note: If you have already lost money due to financial fraud or become a victim of cybercrime, Chakshu cannot help. In such cases, immediately report the incident to the cybercrime helpline number 1930 or the cybercrime portal https://cybercrime.gov.in/

How to Report Fraudulent Communication on Chakshu
Reporting on Chakshu is a simple process:
1. Visit the Sanchar Saathi portal: https://sancharsaathi.gov.in/
2. Under “Citizen Centric Services,” click on “Chakshu – Report Suspected Fraud Communication.”
3. Review the disclaimer and purpose of Chakshu, then proceed by clicking “Continue for reporting.”
4. Fill out the online form with details like the medium of communication (call, SMS, WhatsApp), category of fraud, date, and time of the incident.
5. Provide a detailed description of the communication and include screenshots (optional) for better evidence.
6. Enter your name and verify your mobile number with a one-time password (OTP).
7. Finally, submit the complaint.
